Bio

I grew up in Douglas County, and I graduated from Alexander High School in 2003. Upon graduation, I attended the University of West Georgia and graduated with a bachelor's in Middle Grades Education (4-8) and later obtained my master's in Reading Education. I obtained gifted certification through Metro Resa in 2016, and most recently, I obtained NISE STEM certification in 2023! This will be my 14th year of teaching, but it will be my first year as a STEM teacher. I am so excited to teach all of our tigers, from grades K-5, and I promise I will strive every day to do this job justice! I am a firm believer in lifelong learning, so I will continue learning alongside my students as we explore ideas and phenomena. My goal is to keep students engaged and excited about learning new things!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three kids. We like spending time outside, whether it is swimming or hiking to a cool waterfall. I also enjoy photography, reading, and an occasional DIY project!
