Bio:

Hi, my name is Mrs. Melissa Peek.  I am a first-grade teacher here at Providence Elementary School. My classroom's theme is Puppies, Peek's Pups. (Yes, dogs rule!) 🐶🐾 In my classroom, we always try to do our best. I strive to provide exciting and hands-on activities to meet each child's individual educational needs. Here at PES, I am a friendly  📣 AMI—STAD knight! 🦚💖

My husband and I have been married for 21 years and we have one wonderful son, who will be a Senior this year at THS! We have one playful hound pup named Marley, two diva cats, and one bearded dragon, Norby.  We have lived in the Temple area for the last 21 years and we are so proud to be a part of this wonderful community.  

I have been at Providence Elementary since the doors opened back in 2010.  This will be my 23rd year teaching :) Wow, how time flies! Throughout my time at PES, I have taught both Kindergarten and 1st grade. Prior to joining PES, I also taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.  I have a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and a Master's in Education with a focus in Reading and Literacy.

I feel that teaching was my calling. There is just something about it when a child has that moment that they connect to the knowledge that is placed in front of them.  Getting them to that love and passion for learning is my goal.  I look forward to working with you and your child's love for their education.
